Weekend Canyon Music

The Gabriels, an indie group from Leicester, UK, have an affinity for the early folk- rock scene in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon in the mid- 60s, judging from their first single, "Loose Canyon."  References to the Troubadour club in LA, lead guitarist Leon Jones' 12- string Rickenbacker guitar, the bassist's Roger McGuinn granny glasses, singer Gudg's David Crosby leather poncho, and lyrics about being "younger than yesterday" are clear homages to The Byrds.  (We interrupt this intro by recommending you see "Echo in the Canyon," a 2018 movie about the very scene The Gabriels celebrate - check out the movie trailer.)  Otherwise, we'll let their music speak for themselves.  Hope you enjoy.

Their guitarists also look like Neil Young and Roger McGuinn cosplayers!
