In a video that's going viral, yesterday Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan ripped into the majority of House Republicans for not supporting the creation of a commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol insurrection by Trumpist domestic terrorists. Props to him for pointing out the hypocrisy of their Benghazi BENGHAZI !! charade against Hillary Clinton. The bill to create a commission passed the House 252 - 175, with 35 Republicans voting in favor, in a mild rebuke of their Trumpist House leadership.
The progressive, pro-union, plain-speaking Ryan represents a swath of blue collar Ohioans from Youngstown to Akron, and has announced his candidacy for the Senate in 2022. Having both Ryan and Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown together as a team n the Senate would be priceless.
BONUS: A group of Capitol Police officers wrote an open letter expressing their "profound disappointment" with the Republican "leaders" in the House and Senate over their opposition to a January 6 commission.
