The sinister Trumpist who, as Postmaster General, tried his best to undermine last year's vote-by-mail efforts during the pandemic, is under investigation by the FBI for campaign finance violations. Louis "Delay" DeJoy was installed last year by mentally unstable Donald "Loser" Trump in the Postmaster General position specifically to undermine mail-in voting that's favored by Democrats, slowing delivery, seizing mailboxes in minority communities, and dismantling high-speed sorting machines. The gambit failed, but the damage was done and DeJoy remains as Postmaster General for now.
The investigation concerns DeJoy's alleged use of employees at his former private company, New Breed Logistics, as "straw donors" to Republican political candidates. The scheme apparently involved his company's executives "contributing" to those candidates, and then being reimbursed by DeJoy in order to avoid campaign financing limitations on individual donations. House Democrats have also asked the FBI to investigate whether DeJoy deliberately slowed the mail prior to the election to benefit Trump, and are looking into whether DeJoy committed perjury when he testified last September to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.
DeJoy sneered at Congressional Democrats in a hearing in February telling them to "get used to me." We'll see if the criminal justice system agrees with this corrupt, authoritarian hack that he's not going away.
