A New York State appellate court today suspended the license to practice law for buffoonish consigliere and gaseous conspiracy monger Rudy "Toot Toot" Giuliani. The New York Times reports:
"The court wrote in a 33-page decision that Mr. Giuliani’s conduct threatened 'the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law.'
Mr. Giuliani helped lead Mr. Trump’s legal challenge to the election results, arguing without merit that the vote had been rife with fraud and that voting machines had been rigged.
'We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020,' the decision read." (our emphasis)
Giuliani was one of the featured speakers at the infamous "Stop The Steal" insurrection rally on January 6 in Washington, DC, and has been sued for $1.3 billion by Dominion Voting Systems for spreading the "big lie" that the 2020 election was stolen in part by corrupted voting machines.
The court's decision doesn't include mention of Giuliani's likely felonious behavior regarding his unregistered lobbying activities in Ukraine to oust corruption-opponent former Ambassador Marie Yovanovich, and his trafficking with known Russian agents in Ukraine to manufacture dirt on President Biden's son Hunter.
