The great Don Everly, who with his late brother Phil formed the Everly Brothers, one of the most influential acts in early rock & roll music, died yesterday at the age of 84. From the Beatles to the Beach Boys to Simon & Garfunkel to the Byrds to Bruce Springsteen and beyond, the impact of the Everly's gorgeous close harmony music is profound. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 -- among the first 10 to be so honored -- and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. Don (the dark haired one) also happened to be a good Democrat, a fact he kept to himself until 2016 because of the diametrically opposed politics of his brother. He's survived by his wife Adela, a son and three daughters, and his mother Margaret (102).
So, in remembrance of his legacy, here are three classic Everly Brothers songs that Don wrote and sang lead on.
