Ukraine says its special forces in Russian-occupied Crimea attacked a Russian airbase in Novofedorvika, on its southern coast not far from beachgoers. A number of Russian jets and helicopters were hit, along with munition supplies.
The Russian public has been mostly insulated from their war against Ukraine, due to Russian thug and war criminal Putin's clamp down on information in Russia. Those Russians vacationing nearby got a taste of what Ukrainian cities and towns have been receiving from Russia's invading forces. Following the attack, there were reports of Russian tourists fleeing the beach area and heading home, causing long traffic backups.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had a wonderful, snarky take on the attack:
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine would like to remind everyone that the presence of occupying troops on the territory of Ukrainian Crimea is not compatible with the high tourist season. pic.twitter.com/PFl6jBzKh4
