Dimwitted Herschel Walker, the former football star and current Republican nominee for Senate, has drawn quite a collection of extremists, election conspiracy mongers, and nut jobs to his campaign to unseat Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock (D-GA). As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, at least two of his campaign staff are unapologetic insurrectionists:
"The former football star’s campaign included Mandy Robinson-Hand in an August press release that named dozens of other grassroots supporters. Robinson-Hand, the chairwoman of Taylor County’s GOP, was listed as a campaign 'captain' for the rural middle Georgia county.
Robinson-Hand and her husband, Charles Hand III, were arrested about 14 months after the pro-Donald Trump insurrection attempt. They are scheduled for a status conference in federal court in Washington next month. [snip]
Among the other 'captains' on the list is Kay Godwin, a Pierce County activist who was among the fake GOP electors who were part of a plot to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. She and others on the phony slate could face criminal charges linked to an ongoing Fulton County investigation." (our emphasis)
The Hands face four misdemeanor charges for their illegal actions on January 6. An even more insidious activist, Godwin was one of the 11 false Trumpist electors claiming that the Malignant Loser won the electoral votes of Georgia. They represent the criminal core of Trumpism and their cult's drift toward Christofascism, spurred on by the insane QAnon conspiracies.
The Senate race in Georgia will narrow between now and election day, as Republicans will likely come home to their damaged and unfit candidate. You can support the re-election of Sen. Warnock by going here and giving whatever you can.
