Mart -- Ashley, like essentially all inside the Beltway political "journalists," is access- dependent and focused on getting scoops. That's her life and worldview. She has a horizon dictated by deadlines for publication and anything that interrupts the flow of scoops is a danger to her career. I really wonder if she truly has seen the last 6 years from the same perspective as us. From "insights" like this, I would say definitely not.
