You won't recognize the title of our song choice today, "Shchedryk", a traditional bell carol by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 and lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. But you'll recognize it's version in English: "Carol of the Bells," a Christmas staple for choirs around the world.
As we celebrate the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Washington, D.C. as well as the heroic people of Ukraine, the choice of this song, performed in Ukrainian last year by the Veryovka Ukrainian Folk Choir, is fitting. Slava Ukraini, and enjoy the music.

I was in Madrigals at North High in Omaha and our director taught us the song in Ukrainian. It was magical!
