Two years ago today, a mob of insurrectionists inspired and directed by the Malignant Loser attacked the Capitol of the United States of America in order to stop the peaceful transition of power. Five people died as a result of the attack and many more were injured, including 138 police officers. The attack was precipitated by the Malignant Loser's "Big Lie," that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen from him, a lie that's become the litmus test for being a Republican/ Seditionist in good standing today.
The January 6 select committee recently wrapped up its historic work with a final report whose evidence will hopefully aid in the prosecution and conviction of those most responsible for the act of sedition. However, we see, two years on, that election- denying seditionists are still in power in many statehouses, state legislatures, and in the House and Senate of the United States, to our country's everlasting shame.
The committee began its hearings into the insurrection on June 9, 2021, with a video reminder of the horrific attack on that day. It's worthwhile to see the raw events of that day that we may never forget the threat to our democracy that still exists today.
