Last night, a large explosion occurred in the Russian city of Kolomna, which is approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Moscow. Russian state media and The Jerusalem Post also reported on the explosion. Significantly, Kolomna is the headquarters of the company that manufactures Russia's Iskander missiles, KB Mashinostroyeniya. It's not clear what caused the explosion, or whether it occurred at the missile company. Ukraine has been silent on the explosion.
This follows a rash of explosions and fires that have occurred in past months in Russian territory. Some are arson, some appear to be drones carrying explosives. One explosion and fire was at an oil refinery across the Black Sea from Ukraine in Tuapse on February 28. So far, the cause has not been identified.
