Saxophonist and jazz great Wayne Shorter died yesterday at the age of 89. A master composer and musician and winner of 12 Grammy Awards, Shorter collaborated with other greats throughout his long career: Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Elvin Jones, Freddie Hubbard, Jaco Pastorius, and McCoy Tyner, to name a few. "Speak No Evil," his foundational 1966 album, is often included in the top 100 jazz albums of all time. Here's the album's title song, composed by Shorter and dedicated to his young daughter Miyako. R.I.P.
