A former Republican candidate for state Senate in South Dakota was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fines after being convicted for felony incest with his underage daughter. Joel Koskan had been sexually abusing her as a child for years, exposing her to "sexual grooming" behaviors and not using contraceptives. He later put pressure on her not to come forward. Under a plea bargain agreement, charges of rape were dropped in exchange for Koskan's guilty plea of felony incest.
With his record, we're certain that he'll be a rising star in South Dakota's reactionary Republican Party once he gets out of the South Dakota State Penitentiary.

"Bailiff! Whack his peepee!!"
ReplyDeleteSorry. That classic line from C & C is permanently, prominently burned into my subconscious from endless sessions of smoke and spin!
Seriously though. The behavior, crimes (unimaginable crimes. Committed against his own offspring). The inability to even begin to comprehend.
Obviously, Severe mental illness is involved.
The guilt and shame of a conservative upbringing seems to spur an insistence on harsh legislation for all, to be sure that ones' own possible biologic 'tendencies' would not go unpunished.
