Moscow Launches Major Drone Attack

On the 78th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, Russia, Europe's new fascistic threat, launched a massive drone attack on neighboring Ukraine today. Some 60 were aimed at Ukrainian targets and all were shot down, according to the Ukrainian officials. Debris nonetheless fell on buildings injuring at least five people in Kyiv. The thirty-six that targeted Kyiv appeared to be in retaliation for the false flag drone "attack" on the Kremlin which was all but certainly staged by Russia as an excuse for more war crimes against Ukraine. Those drones were launched in Russia, and likely near Moscow.

When the Russians celebrate tomorrow, it will be considerably diminished from past observances, with parades cancelled across Russia so as not to remind people of the staggering losses Russia is suffering, and due to a shortage of military equipment destroyed in Ukraine. In contrast, Ukraine will welcome the representative of its European allies, as Reuters reports:

"On the day of Russia's parade, Zelenskiy will underscore Ukraine's ambition to join the West by receiving European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, whose visit to the war zone the EU took the unusual step of announcing in advance.

Brussels marks May 9 as 'Europe Day', honouring a French declaration in 1950 that led to the founding of the body that became the EU."

Ukraine now celebrates "Victory Day" over Nazi Germany on May 8, rather than May 9 as Russia does, in a conscious break with their invading neighbor. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy commented on the attack:

"Recalling the heroism of millions of Ukrainians in that war against Nazism, we see the same heroism in the actions of our soldiers today," said Zelenskiy, who addressed the nation from a hilltop overlooking Kyiv.

'Just as evil rushed into our towns and villages then, so it does now. As it killed our people then, so it does now,' he said. 'And all the old evil that modern Russia is bringing back will be defeated, just as Nazism was defeated.'"  (our emphasis)

As long as the West stands firm and gives Ukraine the military, intelligence and financial tools it needs to expel the Russians, that pledge will be fulfilled.
