Republican knives are out for extremist right-wing sexual predator protector Rep. Jim "Gym" Jordan (Insurrection - OH) in his fading quest to become Speaker. Yesterday, a second ballot gave Gym even less votes that he received on Monday, causing the House to recess to regroup. Republican House members say he prospects for a third ballot are looking grim for the insurrectionist follower of the Malignant Loser. From Axios:
"'The expectation is ... that there will be some others that will move away from the Jordan candidacy,' Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.) said. 'The chatter I'm hearing is about the need to move on.'
Womack said he expects three to five more Republicans to defect from Jordan — and possibly more. He cited a 'collective opinion' that while Jordan is 'perfectly suited' for his panel chairmanship, he 'does not possess the skillsets needed to be an effective speaker.'
Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said he 'absolutely expects' at least three to five more defections, telling Axios: 'We know the names.'
'If we move to a third round, we already know the opposition is on track to grow,' Rep. John Rutherford (R-Fla.) said in a statement. 'It's time for Rep. Jordan to understand this race is over.'" (our emphasis)
Gym's bullying tactics in the past few days to gain more votes backfired, and showed what a thuggish job he would do as Speaker. One good thing has come out of his candidacy: renewed focus on Gym's role at Ohio State in protecting a sexual predator doctor who abused dozens of student athletes, many of whom were on the wrestling team that Gym coached.
BONUS: Gym may be forced to withdraw today after opposition to him seems to be increasing.
