Sunday Reflection: "A New, A Vast And A Powerful Language"

"A new, a vast, and a powerful language is developed for the future use of analysis, in which to wield its truths so that these may become of more speedy and accurate practical application for the purposes of mankind than the means hitherto in our possession have rendered possible." British mathematician and considered the first computer programmer Ada King, Countess Lovelace (12/10/1815 - 11/27/1852) from her "Notes on the Analytical Engine invented by Charles Babbage" (1843). As an associate of Babbage, who conceived of the first programmable computer, Lovelace was a pioneer in computer science, who also happened to be the daughter of acclaimed poet Lord Byron. As a true visionary, she imagined the use of Babbage's "Analytical Engine" beyond simple computing, and inspired generations to follow to make that imagination a reality.
