The Republican Clown Car Breaks Down, Again

Let's quickly review how the MAGAt- driven Congressional Republican clown car has broken down in just the past 24 hours, like a common Tesla.

The Mayorkas impeachment

In a stunning defeat, a Republican-led push to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas failed on Tuesday.

The final vote was 214-216. Four Republicans defected and joined all Democrats present in opposing the measure.

For a moment, the vote was tied at 215-215 before another Republican switched to vote against.

Speaker Mike Johnson announced the resolution had failed, to cheers from Democrats in the chamber...

The aid to Israel stand alone bill

The House on Tuesday rejected a bill to provide $17.6 billion in aid for Israel, sinking Congress’s latest effort to help its embattled Middle Eastern ally and throwing the fate of future foreign aid into question.

The tally was 250-180 — short of the two-thirds majority needed to pass the measure — with critics in both parties joining forces to quash it.

The stunning vote marked a defeat for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who has opposed Democratic efforts to combine new Israel funding with other security provisions, including aid for Ukraine, and sought to pressure Democrats into swallowing the Israel piece as a stand-alone bill...

The torpedoing of the bipartisan border security/ Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan aid bill

Republican senators made it clear Tuesday that they will kill the border security bill their party negotiated with Democrats, a stunning turnaround less than 48 hours after it was released by Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., and blessed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

McConnell, R-Ky. — overruled by his Senate GOP members, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and former President Donald Trump — conceded it has no path to passage.

“We had a very robust discussion about whether or not this product could ever become law. And it’s been made pretty clear to us by the speaker that it will not become law,” McConnell told reporters. “So I want to congratulate Sen. Lankford on a remarkable job of negotiating with the other side, getting the support of the Border Council. But it looks to me, and to most of our members, as if we have no real chance here to make a law.”...

It should go without saying that all the above debacles are the work of one Stable Genius who has directed his spineless, screeching monkey caucus to conduct bogus impeachment hearings and sabotage any legislation that might redound to the nation's or President Biden's benefit.  They're reflections of him -- malignant losers all.

But, these twisted cult members do seem to have time to whitewash recent history.  Credibly- accused child sex trafficker Rep. Matt Gaetz (Degenerate Fascist-FL) has introduced a resolution in the House claiming that the Malignant Loser "... did not engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or give aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."  That ignominious piece of revisionism by one of the House's own insurrectionists brought an immediate reply from former DC police officer Michael Fanone:

“This resolution is a slap in the face to those of us who almost lost everything defending the Capitol on January 6th, including protecting some of the very Members of Congress who are now attempting to rewrite history to exonerate former President Trump. But no piece of paper signed by a group of spineless extremists will ever change the facts about that dark day: the insurrection was violent, it was deadly and it will happen again if we do not expunge the MAGA ideology that stoked the flames of insurrection in the first place. Rep. Matt Gaetz and every supporter of this resolution must be held accountable for their lies and un-American efforts to undermine our democracy.”

This isn't a governing party.  This isn't a party that bargains in good faith.  This isn't a party that represents true American values.

It's a dangerous cult.
