Take a tour of the Liljestrand House overlooking Honolulu, Hawaii, a wonderful example of "Hawaiian Modernism" in architecture. Designed by architect Vladimir Ossipoff and completed in 1952, it's an architectural time capsule, preserved to show the aesthetic values of the time:
"... The design features extensive use of natural materials, such as wood and stone, large sliding glass doors, and expansive lanais that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The house's open floor plan and thoughtful attention to climate and site-specific conditions underscore Ossipoff's commitment to creating harmonized spaces with their environment..."
Brief home movies of the home's construction and early family life are featured in the last two minutes of the video. Beautiful.
