In the hours after President Biden made his selfless and noble decision not to seek reelection and to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris, dozens of Dem political figures, donors and others expressed their support for Harris' sudden candidacy. Delegates to the Dem Party Convention are lining up in support of the Vice President, as State Dem party chairs unanimously pledged their support for Harris.
In a show of growing excitement for her candidacy and a coalescing of the Dem Party behind her, ActBlue, a major Dem fundraising organization, reported that they had collected $47 million in grassroots contributions for her and Dem candidates down ballot. Also, major donors who were withholding donations to pressure President Biden to withdraw are pledging full support to a ticket headed by Harris. The Vice President also secured the funds of the Biden-Harris campaign -- $96 million -- and rebranded the FEC election filing for the campaign as "Harris for President."
The torch has been passed, and its flame is going to be applied to the MAGA movement.
