Grateful Dead leader and counterculture guru Jerry Garcia passed away on this day in 1995 from a heart attack at the age of 53. He was the lead guitarist, principal songwriter, and singer for the pioneering, iconic group. It's another case of a person with much more to give who left too soon. We're honoring his memory by reprising "Morning Dew" (written by Bonnie Dobson and Tim Rose) from their first eponymous 1967 album, and "Touch of Grey" (music by Garcia, lyrics by Robert Hunter) from their 1987 album "In the Dark."
