FAFO: Republican Appropriators Feel Left Out

Last week's ramming through of a MAGA continuing resolution, with no resistance from rudderless Dems led by the feckless Sen. Chuck "We Will Win" Schumer, was a dress rehearsal for the fiscal 2026 appropriations process. As expected, fascist South African sociopath and ketamine addict Elon "Kaboom" Musk will rule over what is contained in the 12 appropriations bills that fund the Federal Government, with his co-President the Malignant Fascist and Budget Director and "Project 2025" contributor Russell Vought adding their malicious touches. Politico reports that some Republican members of the Senate Appropriations Committee have squeaked up to express their dismay at being sidelined:

"Last week’s rapid-fire push by GOP leaders to enact a stopgap funding bill through September put into sharp relief the waning influence of the House and Senate Appropriations committees that once ran the show. With President Donald Trump giving Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk and White House budget director Russ Vought unprecedented latitude over the federal purse strings, the leaders of the spending panels were ultimately sidelined by the executive branch and their own party leaders.

"Appropriators insist they are merely experiencing a setback, not headed for extinction, and that they fully intend to regain their relevance. Republicans are pledging a return to 'regular order' by completing all 12 annual spending bills on time — a feat that has not been accomplished since the 1990s.

"'Heads will explode" among appropriators if GOP leaders don’t facilitate that return, said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, an appropriator and a member of Senate Republican leadership." (our emphasis)

We guarantee one call from Musk threatening to fund a primary challenge for these jellyfish will have them falling in line. If that doesn't work, the MF's flying monkey cult will descend on their offices and bombard them with phone calls and angry letters, even if they're taking it in the shorts with the cuts. More:

"Republican appropriators have now been directed to bake Musk’s DOGE cuts into a new batch of funding bills before the next government shutdown deadline in September — another sign that the appropriations process has been hijacked by the executive branch.

"'We are in a bad place, and it’s a place that I regret,' [Alaska Sen. Lisa] Murkowski said on the Senate floor before voting to pass the latest patch." (our emphasis)

This is FAFO time for Republican lawmakers, who have ceded authority to not only their cult leader, but also to a dangerous, arrogant sociopath with all the money it takes to wreck lives and the Government, and are just now regretting it.
