"Intentional Act Of Terrorism"

Yesterday's blast outside of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, CA has been described as "an intentional act of terrorism" according to law enforcement officials. From CBS News:

"At least one person was killed in an explosion Saturday morning near a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, that authorities are calling an 'intentional act of terrorism.'

Palm Springs city officials said in a Facebook post that the blast occurred just before 11 a.m. local time at North Indian Canyon Drive, near East Tachevah Drive, a stretch that has several healthcare facilities, including American Reproductive Centers, a local IVF clinic.

Four other people were injured in the explosion, none of which are believed to be staff members of the clinic, city officials said.

In a statement, Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills disclosed that one person was killed in a vehicle explosion that appeared to be 'an intentional act of violence.' That person has not yet been identified, Mills said.

He said that the blast field extended several blocks and severely damaged some nearby buildings. The police chief added that the explosion originated at 1199 N. Indian Canyon Dr., the address of American Reproductive Centers."

The blast apparently came from a car parked outside of the Center. FBI and ATF investigators are assisting State and local authorities.

Whether this is the start of a wave of violent Christofascist actions against reproductive clinics remains to be seen, but the Malignant Fascist's malice against women's reproductive rights has contributed to the reality that women are being targeted by far right MAGAts, whether legislatively, or unlawfully and violently.

  1. ABC News reports ( https://abcnews.go.com/US/explosion-shakes-palm-springs-residents-instructed-stay/story?id=121910709 ) it was an 'anti-life' wackadoodle that was tired of living and wanted to go out with a bang. Left an online 'manifesto'

  2. "Pro-mortalist?" That's one I've never heard before. I confess, I was wondering who might be anti fertility. Rethug's want more kids, Churches want more kids, maybe someone can enlighten me.

  3. Missouri voters just approved abortion care up to 24 weeks. About the only bill the legislature passed since is a bill to have a "less onerous" ban back on the ballot in 2026. Nice folks.
