Trump Interferes In Brazil's Politics

The buffoonish and reckless Malignant Fascist has a counterpart in Brazil, the former president Jair Bolsonaro, who's been referred to as "Brazil's Trump."  When Bolsonaro was defeated by current President Lula da Silva in 2021, he pulled his own version of January 6 and led a failed coup.  Now, Bolsonaro is facing a trial for his actions, and his friend the MF is speaking out for him, per the BBC:

"US President Donald Trump has urged Brazilian authorities to end their prosecution of the country's former President Jair Bolsonaro, accusing them of carrying out a 'WITCH HUNT'.

His comments drew a swift rebuke from current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who said Brazil would not accept 'interference' from anyone and added: 'No one is above the law.'

President Lula's reminder that "no one is above the law" is a nice swipe at the MF's disregard for the rule of law, and that Brazil won't put up with the MF's malign interference.

Bolsonaro, who governed Brazil between 2019 and 2022, is standing trial for allegedly attempting a coup against Lula following his election victory in 2021. [snip]

In a social media post, Trump said Bolsonaro was "not guilty of anything, except having fought for THE PEOPLE" and told prosecutors to 'LEAVE BOLSONARO ALONE!'

He praised Bolsonaro as a 'strong leader' who 'truly loved his country'.

The US president compared Bolsonaro's prosecution to the legal cases he himself faced between his two presidential terms.

'This is nothing more, or less, than an attack on a Political Opponent - Something I know much about! It happened to me, times 10,' Trump said." (our emphasis)

All the victimhood and deceit that the MF employs are there for his friend Bolsonaro: "witch hunt", "not guilty of anything," "attack on a Political Opponent," etc.  The MF's admiration for a "strong leader" reflects his own desire for authoritarian rule.  The MF thinks he can interfere in any nation's politics like a chess master instructing pupils on what moves to make on the chess board.  But he's regarded by world leaders as a clown -- a dangerous one to be sure -- whose embrace of dictators and disastrous trade policies put him outside the community of democratic nations.
