As Congress returns from its summer recess, the focus again returns to the Epstein files and the Malignant Fascist regime's coverup thereof. This morning, at least 10 of Epstein's victims will hold a news conference hosted by Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY), where they're expected to have "bombshell" (Khanna's word) information about the sex trafficker and his operation.
Meanwhile, the MF's Justice Department made a big show of releasing files related to the case in response to a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee. There's only one small problem:
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said it has released tens of thousands of records related to Jeffrey Epstein, provided by the Department of Justice.
"On August 5, Chairman Comer issued a subpoena for records related to Mr. Jeffrey Epstein, and the Department of Justice has indicated it will continue producing those records while ensuring the redaction of victim identities and any child sexual abuse material," the committee said in a release announcing the release of 33,295 pages of Epstein-related records that included a link for where to access them.
Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee have previously said that most of the files turned over by the DOJ are already public; California Rep. Ro Khanna has said 97% are in the public domain, while 3% are new... (our emphasis)
Yes. We've already seen or been aware of 97% of what DOJ released. It's a slow- walking, foot- dragging, stone- walling coverup, folks. (The puerile mainstream media will eat it up, reporting there's been transparency, nothing to see here, case closed! That false impression should last about 12 hours.)
We're likely to get more from the news conference this morning than we'll get from the DOJ or their lying cooperator Ghislaine Maxwell:
Some victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are set to speak at a press conference on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Capitol. The bipartisan event is organized by Reps. Ro Khanna, D-California, and Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, who predict it will be "explosive."
The press conference will feature ten women, some of whom have never spoken publicly before, Khanna told NBC's Meet the Press.
"They will be telling their story and they will be saying clearly to the American public that they want the release of the Epstein files for full closure on this matter," Khanna said on Sunday, Aug. 31. [snip]
Massie told reporters outside of the Capitol that the release was "only 1% of what they possess and 97% of it's already been released."
Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Robert Garcia, D-California, also said that most of what was released by the committee was already public.
The committee also heard from some of Epstein's victims yesterday likely in a preview of today's news conference:
Members of the committee met with some of Epstein's victims on the same day as the release.
“What they revealed is not only the trauma of hundreds (maybe thousands) of young women, but a cover-up of epic proportions involving the wealthy, the well-connected, and even our own government – all the way to the top,” Rep. Melanie Stansbury, D-New Mexico, told reporters after the briefing. (our emphasis)
The news conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Eastern and will be carried live by a number of outlets.
UPDATE: The survivors plan to develop a list of Epstein and Maxwell's clients / abusers, but haven't stated if they'll release it. The Malignant Fascist must be soiling his Depends.
