Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, known by her performing name of CMAT, is an Irish singer / songwriter whose popularity has surged after her appearance at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. Her third album, "Euro-Country," has a country - pop flavor with lyrics that reflect the struggles and hopes of everyday people, and her native Ireland. Her campy videos are often a send up on those by other pop and country singers: self-consciously dramatic, and kitschy. But that great voice.....Here are two tracks from her album, "Lord Let That Tesla Crash," and the title single, "Euro-Country," which begins in Celtic and is her comment on Ireland's identity crisis.
My EURO-EURO-EURO COUNTRY
(The mam and the dad)
My EURO-EURO-EURO COUNTRY
(The present is past)
Everything I thought that I could be
(He cut it in half)
My EURO-EURO-EURO COUNTRY
(I do all he asks)
