Right Wing Cage Match: Fox And Newsmax

Right-wing media outlet Newsmax is suing fellow right-wing lie machine Fox News for "abusing monopoly power," pitting the two in a contest of who can lie the most in fluffing the Malignant Fascist, who almost certainly will intervene in some way. From CNBC:

"Newsmax filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing conservative media giant Fox News of acting as a monopoly and suppressing its right-leaning competitors.

'Fox has sought to protect and expand its monopoly power in the Right-leaning Pay TV News Market by engaging in a suite of anticompetitive behaviors,' attorneys for the outlet wrote in the suit in federal court in southern Florida.

The lawyers allege that Fox News coerces distributors into 'exclusionary and restrictive agreements,' and that it has used 'intimidation tactics' to hurt Newsmax — including hiring 'private detective firms to investigate Newsmax executives.'

'But for Fox’s anticompetitive behavior, Newsmax would have achieved greater pay TV distribution, seen its audience and ratings grow sooner, gained earlier ‘critical mass’ for major advertisers and become, overall, a more valuable media property,' they wrote in the suit." (our emphasis)

Newsmax's CEO is Christopher Ruddy, a loyal friend of the MF, while Fox is headed by recent MF nemesis and dried husk Rupert Murdoch, whose Wall Street Journal property has run afoul of the MF recently in its anti-tariff editorials and by publicizing the MF's obscene 50th birthday card to his co-conspirator Jeffrey Epstein.  Both were successfully sued by Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic for lying about the 2020 election being rigged using their voting machines.  In any event, for the two organizations to slug it out in court and spend huge sums on legal fees is a win for the nation.  May both sides lose.
