“One thing we know for sure is that change is certain. Progress is not. Progress depends on the choices we make today for tomorrow and on whether we meet our challenges and protect our values.” -- Hillary Rodham Clinton, First Lady, U.S. Senator, Secretary of State, and Democratic nominee for President, in her book "Living History." Born in Chicago, IL, on this day in 1947, Clinton is one of the most accomplished American public figures of her or any other generation. Her words, published in 2003, are especially prescient and relevant today, when the challenges we face are perhaps more daunting than at almost any other time in our history. Trump and his fascistic Trumpism will someday be gone; that's the nature of time and change. We must be certain that the choices we're making today ensure that our future protects our values better than they've been protected up to now.
