CNN's Harry Enten breaks down surging Democratic Party identification and what it potentially means for the mid- term elections in 2026:
A little more than 12 months to go to the mid-terms (a few weeks until Statewide elections in New Jersey and Virginia), but it's obviously better to be in this position as an indicator of which way the momentum is swinging. MAGAt Republicans have lashed their fates to that of the Malignant Fascist, and it will take more than MF- ordered Republican gerrymandering to overcome a surge like this should it be sustained or expanded come November 2026 (with the proviso that the only poll that counts is the one where you vote on election day!).
