Skeets Of The Day

The Surrender Caucus:  political malpractice & leaders not made for the times --

Trump is 30 points underwater. Dems swept the special elections. People know the GOP is responsible for the shutdown. So the Dem Senators pulled out their big guns... and shot themselves in the foot.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

— Ro Khanna (@rokhanna.bsky.social) November 9, 2025 at 9:25 PM

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

One of two things is true: 1. Chuck Schumer genuinely felt this is a bad deal, so he voted against it, but he couldn't keep Senate Dems in line because he's a lackluster leader. OR 2. Chuck Schumer orchestrated the shutdown deal w/ retiring Dems because he's a bad strategist and got rattled.

Anyone who believes that the Senators who voted for the non-deal did so without Schumer’s consent while he votes no for show is gullible & naive. You either do this with a plan and exit strategy or you don’t do it at all. There is a disconnect between Dem voters & Sen leadership.

The arrogance of a Senator who is not even running again to take the lead in undermining the Caucus and the voters.

Real Dems respond --

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength. Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans. The American people need more from their leaders.

— Governor Gavin Newsom (@governor.ca.gov) November 10, 2025 at 1:20 AM

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise. Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families. Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake. I voted NO.

They caved to this guy --

Trump being loudly booed at the Commanders' game. Americans hate him. How humiliating for Trump.

With a “WOW!,” President Trump posts a claim about DOGE and “royalties linked to Obamacare” that originated on a satirical website. That site’s own About section reads: “Everything on this website is fiction… If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined.”
