The coordinated effort to intimidate Dem Governors and mayors chalked up another illegitimate target as many as 2,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are descending on Minneapolis - St. Paul. They are specifically targeting Somali residents, who have drawn the racist wrath of the bigoted and delusional Malignant Fascist over allegations of widespread Federal funds fraud. From the Associated Press:
"The government planned to send about 2,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and officers to Minnesota, according to a U.S. official and a person briefed on the matter. The agents are expected to be dispatched in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, the person said. The people were not authorized to publicly discuss operational details and spoke with The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
Immigrant rights groups and elected officials in the Twin Cities reported a sharp increase Tuesday in sightings of federal agents, notably around St. Paul. Numerous agents’ vehicles were reported making traffic stops, outside area businesses and apartment buildings."
Of course, if there are cameras and reporters around, expect the Botoxed-up Homeland Security Secretary and callously ambitious MAGAt Kristi "ICE Barbie" Noem to make a cosplay appearance, heavy makeup, tight jeans and all:
"Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was also present and accompanied U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers during at least one arrest. A video posted on X showed Noem wearing a tactical vest and knit cap as agents arrested a man in St. Paul. In the video, she tells the handcuffed man: 'You will be held accountable for your crimes.'” (our emphasis)
As with California and Illinois, the intention is to rattle Dem populations hosting immigrant residents, as well as naturalized citizens, since ICE uniformly acts on the basis of skin color when harassing people (the "Kavanaugh stop"). In response to the incursion, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz remarked that, "You’re seeing that we have a ridiculous surge of apparently 2,000 people not coordinating with us, that are for a show of cameras." The "show" will invariably hurt the innocent who happen to be the wrong color in the wrong place at the wrong time, but as long as the intimidation works and ICE Barbie gets her photo ops, it's all in the game.
