"When a war breaks out, people say: 'It's too stupid; it can't last long.' But though the war may well be 'too stupid,' that doesn't prevent its lasting. Stupidity has a knack of getting its way; as we should see if we were not always so much wrapped up in ourselves." -- Nobel laureate in Literature Albert Camus (11/7/1913 - 1/4/1960), in The Plague (1947). A fitting quote for our Trumpian dystopia.
Best known for his novel The Stranger (1942), Camus' work embraced the absurdity of life, and while he rejected his categorization as an "existentialist," Camus' philosophy dealt with existential questions.
