Unleashing his private militia on Democratic cities was always intended to provoke a response that would give the Malignant Fascist the pretext for invoking the Insurrection Act. Now he's made the threat after a second ICE shooting in Minneapolis has led to protests:
It's long been speculated that the MF would use his ICE/ DHS thug militia under the Insurrection Act to suppress the vote in Dem cities and quell any disturbances arising from another election coup attempt on his part. You might say this is a dry run for a scenario where his party/cult is routed in the 2026 mid-terms.
Desperate to remain in power, and with a craven Republican Congress doing his bidding, the MF sees free and fair elections as an existential threat (he's said that he's concerned if the Democrats take over Congress, he'll be impeached again). His various maneuvers to rig the election via gerrymandering, changing election laws, etc., are right out of the autocrat's playbook. The placing of his personal thug militia in key cities is merely an extension of his (and his minions') authoritarian plans to continue in power.
