Damage Grows From Trump's Tariff Idiocy

As the Malignant Fascist grabs for anything to distract from his immigration enforcement disaster and his prominent placement in the Epstein - Trump files, his use of tariffs -- a tax on American consumers, which he doesn't understand -- has created possibly irreparable divisions with our allies and taken billions out of the wallets of American consumers who are suffering from his reactionary economic policies.  From the Associated Press:

'Bullied and buffeted by President Donald Trump’s tariffs for the past year, America’s longstanding allies are desperately seeking ways to shield themselves from the president’s impulsive wrath.

U.S. trade partners are cutting deals among themselves —- sometimes discarding old differences to do so — in a push to diversify their economies away from a newly protectionist United States. Some European governments and institutions are reducing their use of U.S. digital services such as Zoom and Teams.

Central banks and global investors are dumping dollars and buying gold. Together, their actions could diminish U.S. influence and mean higher interest rates and prices for Americans already angry about the high cost of living." (our emphasis)

The unstable and vindictive MF's unconstitutional tariff policy -- if whims and perceived slights can be called "policy" -- has proven to be as untrustworthy as the MF himself, and our trading partners are making sure they're protected:

"Just months after reaching his agreement with the EU, Trump threatened new tariffs on eight European countries for opposing his attempts to seize control of Greenland from Denmark – though he quickly backed down. And last month, he said he’d slap 100% tariffs on Canada for breaking with the United States by agreeing to reduce Canadian tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.

'Our trading partners are discovering that the largely one-sided deals they concluded with the U.S. provide little protection,' said former U.S. trade negotiator Wendy Cutler, senior vice president at the Asia Society Policy Institute. 'As a result, trade diversification efforts by our partners are on turbo charge, looking to reduce dependence on the U.S.'’’  (our emphasis)

They're finding that bending the knee and awarding him trinkets doesn't work in the end, because like all extortionists, he'll always want more from them.

Last week, we noted his tariff temper tantrums had precipitated a blockbuster trade agreement between India and the European Union, and UK Prime Minister Starmer's visit to Beijing to promote trade ties, among other evidence of the MF's malign effects.  The impacts are just beginning to be felt by consumers, and our exporting economy, which is facing reciprocal tariffs and countries taking their business elsewhere where they can.  America alone, MAGAts!
