Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who celebrate (and if you celebrate, please do so responsibly)! As the Irish proverb goes:
"May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you are going, and the insight to know when you have gone too far."
For some traditional Irish music to set the tone today, here are The Chieftains with the lyrical reel "The Morning Dew," and The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem with "Brennan on the Moor." (The latter is about William "Willie" Brennan, a Robin Hood- type highwayman in the late 18th and early 19th centuries in our ancestral County Cork.) Of Irish descent or not, we wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day. Erin go Bragh!
BONUS: A guide to the pronunciation of some common Irish names.
BONUS II: MPS's Tengrain is doing "Mike's Blog Round-Up" at Crooks & Liars this week and shares a clip of Irish comedian David Nihill that you don't want to miss.
