Texas State Rep. James Talarico defeated Rep. Jasmine Crockett for the Dem nomination for Senate, aa seat currently held by MAGA Sen. John Cornyn. The vote was close, and it's a shame that both couldn't have won with their individual charisma and appealing messages. Some voting glitches in Dallas are prompting Crockett to sue the jurisdiction, so there may be new developments depending on the impact of the problems. Subsequent to that report, Crockett conceded and pledged to unite behind Talarico to win Texas.
On the MAGA side, Cornyn will face a runoff election with runner up corrupt adulterer Ken Paxton, ironically Texas' Attorney General. Should Paxton win, it will set up an interesting contrast between him and Talarico, who has a divinity degree in addition to degrees from Harvard and the University of Texas, so we're hoping he's the MAGAt candidate. Either way, it will be a nasty general election campaign, as Dems haven't won statewide since 1994, and the MAGAts are looking at close margins for control of the Senate in the mid-terms.
BONUS: Meanwhile in North Carolina, former Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper will face former RNC Chairchode Michael Whatley in the general election. The popular former governor has a great chance to flip this seat, currently held by Republican Thom Tillis.
BONUS II: Big money Texas Cornyn donors are blaming the token black MAGAt candidate Rep. Wesley Hunt for splitting the vote and forcing a runoff between Cornyn and Paxton. Because scapegoating black people is what MAGAts do. FAFO, Rep. Hunt.
