Starting out in Fullerton, CA, as a pioneering punk band in the late '70s, Social Distortion has evolved and incorporated different genres into their sound, while continuing to tour and record. Following a long drought, their latest album, "Born To Kill," was released a few weeks ago. A driving, evocative track from that album, "The Way Things Were," is our choice today.
Who doesn't love Social D? We already bought the CD, it's awesome start to finish. When I first heard Mike Ness singing one of the new songs on the radio he sounded a bit different to me. He has successfully fought tonsil cancer the past couple years. Their version of "Ring of Fire" always makes us happy. (Think buying a CD makes one an oldster.)
