QOTD: "Superintelligence"

The ignorant and corrupt Malignant Fascist appeared at the U.N. this morning and made us ashamed again that this venal, narcissistic buffoon is in the White House. The world will be snickering at his "superintelligence" renaming, as with everything this clown is doing. From Paul Waldman's Substack:

"On Tuesday morning, Trump went to the United Nations and delivered another speech that left attendees alternately puzzled and horrified. There were plenty of deranged parts, but let’s just take a moment with this:

“The United States also rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control for the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much now, hereinafter officially called ‘superintellgence,’ changing the name, in that the use of the word ‘artificial’ makes intelligence fake, it makes it sound fake, and it is not fake. It’s actually amazing, but we have to be careful. In fact, it is exactly the opposite of what it purports. From this point forward, all of United States documents and hopefully the world’s will be changed to use the much more accurate term “super” as opposed to “artificial.” So it’s “superintelligence.” In other words, welcome to the new world of superintelligence-dash-SI. SI. Let’s see if that goes, it sounds much better, it is much better, and it’s much more accurate. Let’s see if I have any power. Maybe I do and maybe I don’t, we’re gonna find out very soon.”

'Superintelligence' is the latest 'Gulf of America' or 'Lake America,' in that administration officials will indeed banish the term 'artificial intelligence' from all documents and statements, no matter how stupid they all understand it is, because if the Mad King says that’s what they must do then that’s what they must do." Waldman adds:

"In the face of a rapidly growing backlash against the tech industry, Trump has clearly become convinced that everyone is wrong, and if he becomes the loudest and most obnoxious AI booster in the world — even more than the leaders of the AI companies themselves — eventually he will be the winner of whatever it is that is being won. I suspect that someone — or many someones — have been whispering into his ear that if he promotes AI with enough vigor, thousands of years from now, everyone will say he was the man who secured the winningest winning in the history of winning.

This is an appeal aimed right at the heart of Trump’s rancid worldview. Even apart from his desperate and pathetic quest for immortality, he sees everything in life as a zero-sum conflict in which there is no such thing as cooperation for mutual benefit. Either you’re the winner or the loser, the con man or the sucker, the abuser or the abused, the conqueror or the subjugated. And he knows who he’s going to be." (our emphasis)

He and his crime family and their associates are heavily invested in the AI industry and his cult politicians and vanity projects are on the receiving end of their largesse. Another among countless examples of putting his financial interests above the nation's.
