Salon, one of the first and best progressive on line publications, announced yesterday it was ceasing publication after 31 years. It was a go-to place for insightful and smart writing on politics, culture and the arts. Salon said that their."publishing model is no longer sustainable" in their final posting.
Over the 31 years of its existence, Salon's contributors included Joan Walsh, Michelle Goldberg, Alex Pareene, Heather "Digby" Parton, Josh Marshall, Amanda Marcotte, and even Jake Tapper in the early 2000s. Very sad to see them go, just as the country seems to be turning the page on the Malignant Fascist and his cult. But they have a rich body of work to be proud of.
