Weekend Music

"Run Away," is a song from Beck's new album, released today, "Ride Lonesome." The video features Japanese actor/ director Tadanobu Asano and was filmed in Tokyo.  Beautiful, melancholy composition.  Hope you enjoy.

Weekend Twofer - Beating Like a Drum

We're still exploring Beck's beautiful "Morning Phase" album, so one of our weekend songs is another rich, transcendent cut from that album, "Heart is a Drum."

Now that we've posited "heart is a drum," check out the propulsive, aerobic heart beat of Max Weinberg's drumming on Bruce Springsteen's "I'm Goin' Down," from 1984's "Born in the U.S.A." It'll get your heart pumping for the weekend (it's ok to turn up the volume).

Weekend Song Twofer

We're still checking out cuts from Beck's "Morning Phase" album.  Here's another beauty called "Blue Moon:"

March is a busy month for birthdays if you're a member of the British group Procol Harum, with organist Matthew Fisher (3/7) and guitarist Robin Trower (3/9).  (Drummer B.J. Wilson, who died in 1990, was born on 3/18/47).  So, let this 1967 video of their hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale" (with Fisher's classic Hammond M-102 organ intro) be our way of saying Happy Birthday:

"Morning"  is a lovely song off Beck's first album in five years, "Morning Phase."  Have a nice beverage of your choosing, relax and enjoy.
