Women Should "Submit" Says WH Minister

 

Yesterday, "prosperity gospel" grifter and multimillionaire Bible thumper Paula "Almighty Dollar" White shared some thoughts about a woman's place on a right-wing TV show, and it was a jaw-dropper, even knowing twice-divorced White's extremism and blind faith in the immoral Malignant Fascist, her Golden Calf:

"Look, the head of my household is my husband, Jonathan King. Period. If there's ever a time that a decision has to be made and we don't agree on something, he's the head. [snip]

It's not hard to submit. People were like, well, how could you have pastored or how could you have done this and stuff? By default, because two men failed and I was sent under spiritual authority to carry a load, which is very hard." (our emphasis)

That's about as close to an endorsement of toxic male behavior as we've seen. We're convinced that the MF is excited about the "women need to submit" part.   It validates his predatory approach to them completely. Then came the howler on her role as the faithless Malignant Fascist's prayer lady / exorcist as head of the White House "Faith Office":

"I'm up here working on the initiatives for President Trump, who's been in ministry for 40 years and understands it. I am so excited about the move of God and, undoubtedly, Bible sales up 22%, people returning to church, and men back to faith." (our emphasis)

Maybe it's the MF who should be returning to church. He is notorious for not attending church or being able to cite a favorite passage -- any passage -- in the Bible, so apparently his "40 years" in the ministry haven't accomplished a thing. Meanwhile, he's managed to violate most if not all of the Ten Commandments innumerable times, something White would rather not notice. The kicker is her bragging about Bible sales being up;  maybe, she's talking about the Trump Bible? These are disgusting and deeply hypocritical people.

Pray For Godly Trump!

This is from Jesus grifter and toxic pharisee Franklin Graham, who runs the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (billygraham.org), a shakedown outfit whose 501(c)(3) non- profit, tax exempt status should be revoked for Graham's political activities, along with countless other "Christian"/ right- wing Republican fronts (click on image to enlarge):



Graham and his fellow Elmer Gantrys are Republican political operatives and about as far away from anything that could be called a religion as could be.  They need to be stripped of their non- profit status as soon as Democrats get their hands back on the levers of power.

Praise Trump And Buy My Jet Fuel!

We're certain this was the only place the Pentagon could get its aviation fuel:

The Pentagon agreed to buy nearly $900,000 in jet fuel from the conservative university owned by Jerry Falwell Jr., just months after President Donald Trump took office.

The Department of Defense signed the contract with Freedom Aviation, which is wholly owned by Liberty University, on May 9, 2017, and had since purchased more than $400,000 in turbine fuel from the same company, reported The Daily Beast.

Falwell endorsed Trump’s campaign for the Republican nomination early in 2016, as his candidacy gained momentum during the primary process, and has been one of the president’s more outspoken supporters, sometimes placing him at odds with other evangelical leaders.

Freedom Aviation owns six planes, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, and maintains them at the university’s flight school at the Lynchburg, Virginia, campus.

The company provides charter flights to the public, and Falwell travels on the aircraft for his private use.

The Trump campaign paid Freedom Aviation more than $19,000 in air travel expenses about a week after Falwell endorsed the former reality TV star.

Neither Freedom nor C&C Aviation, another university-owned company, had ever won a federal fuel contract before Trump was elected president.

Only the most cynical would think this was a quid pro quo arrangement between evangelical savior Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump and good not- a- Pastor Falwell.  We hope the House Armed Services Committee doesn't look into it.

The Preacher's Inappropriate Honor

Not long after his death last week at the age of 99, it was announced that evangelist Billy Graham would lie in state in the U.S. capitol rotunda, an honor that's never been accorded a religious figure, not even the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  One could easily argue that Dr. King was a more worthy, impactful figure to have that honor bestowed upon, but why bestow it on any religious figure in a nation that is supposed to enforce the separation of church and state?

The "why" can best be understood by looking at the governing Rethuglican / New Confederate / Shooter's Party and seeing the way they've harnessed the evangelical right over the last 40 years. Rethuglican social policies are dictated by the most extreme fundamentalists in the evangelical movement (consider Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and son, and Graham's own extremist son Franklin). Billy Graham was in some ways a founding father of the alliance of the Rethuglican Party and evangelical conservatism, starting with his close identification with Richard Nixon, although he at times voiced opposition to his movement aligning with a President or party.

His extremist son Franklin "Graham Crackers" Graham has no such hesitation, and has vigorously identified with the most right-wing political elements of Trumpism:

"But almost two decades ago, Graham handed over the keys of the empire to his son, Franklin. And if you want to chart the troubled recent course of American evangelicalism—its powerful rise after World War II and its surprisingly quick demise in recent years—you need look no further than this father-and-son duo of Billy and Franklin Graham. The father was a powerful evangelist who turned evangelicalism into the dominant spiritual impulse in modern America. His son is—not to put too fine a point on it—a political hack, one who is rapidly rebranding evangelicalism as a belief system marked not by faith, hope, and love but by fear of Muslims and homophobia....Franklin Graham is a very different sort of man, better known today for his right-wing political pronouncements than for his evangelism. Shortly after 9/11, Franklin Graham provided the sound bite of today’s culture wars when he denounced Islam as 'a very wicked and evil religion.' He later became the standard bearer for the view that Islam is, in his words 'a religion of hatred . . . a religion of war.'

In addition to purveying the birther nonsense that helped to propel Donald Trump to political prominence, Franklin Graham suggested that President Barack Obama was not a Christian and might in fact be a secret Muslim. Along with Jerry Falwell’s son, Jerry Falwell Jr., he helped to elect Trump president by swinging 80 percent of white evangelical voters to his side. And then when Trump was elected he attributed his victory not to a surge of White Christian support or to swing states in the Midwest but to divine providence." (emphasis added)

So when we see Billy Graham's coffin under the U.S. Capitol rotunda, we see the hand of his son Franklin, his fellow theocrats, and the Rethuglican politicos that are beholden to him and the corrupted pseudo-Christian political movement that they represent.
