Sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg make up the Swedish pop / folk duo First Aid Kit, and their music has gained them fans worldwide. Their hits "My Silver Lining," and "It's A Shame" have won them nominations for music awards, and Rolling Stone magazine chose their 2012 song "Emmylou" as one of the top singles of the year. A track released earlier this month from their recent album "Palomino" is our mid-week song choice: "Everybody's Got to Learn."

Swedish folk / roots rock duo Johanna and Klara Söderberg formed their band First Aid Kit in 2007 as teenagers, and have had growing international success since, especially after their 2014 hit "My Silver Lining" was released. Their beautiful harmonies and songwriting still are evident in their single, "Palomino," which is also the name of their newest album, just released on November 4. Swedish indie folk duo First Aid Kit, composed of sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg, rose to international attention in 2008 when they recorded a cover of Fleet Foxes' "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song." It went viral on YouTube and they've been recording and touring ever since, appearing at such venues as the Royal Albert Hall, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and Radio City Music Hall. Our song today, "It's A Shame," was released a month ago, and will appear on their upcoming fourth album "Ruins."

Mid-Week Keeping On Song

You wouldn't know by listening to them that these artists are from Sweden.  First Aid Kit is a sisterly duo -- Johanna and Klara Soderberg -- from Stockholm who have immersed themselves in American folk music, and perfected the genre even down to the soft twang.  Their recent appearance on David Letterman introduced them to a wider U.S. audience, and their latest album, "Stay Gold," is heading for the top of Bilboard's folk music chart.
