Americans Don't Want Trump's Expansionism, Think He's Too Close To Putin

More than half of Americans, including one in four Republicans, think President Donald Trump is "too closely aligned" with Russia, as he radically realigns U.S. foreign policy, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows.

The two-day poll completed on Wednesday also found little appetite among Americans for Trump's expansionist agenda, as the Republican president talks of acquiring Greenland, Canada and the Panama Canal.

 

Some 56% of respondents, including 89% of Democrats and 27% of Republicans, agreed with a statement that Trump was too close to Moscow. Overall, 40% of respondents disagreed with that statement and 4% did not answer the question... (our emphasis)

Well, you can still fool some of the people (the ones wearing the red hats), but there's clearly a strong supermajority recoiling at his shockingly un-American, dangerous, demented threats to annex Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal, and seize Gaza.  But, as some have noted, why should the legally immunized buffoon care about public opinion on this or any other issue close to him if he thinks he shouldn't cede power again?  If there's a "deep state" and it's listening, "Stand back, and stand by."

The Con Artist Developer And Gaza

It didn't take long after the delusional Malignant Fascist had his meeting yesterday with fellow fascist Israeli Prime Minister Bibi "Bomb Bomb" Netanyahu to trot out a disastrous policy of annexing the Palestinian land of Gaza. With Netanyahu smirking at times beside him, the MF announced that the U.S. was going to "take over" Gaza and develop it into a resort, after driving the Palestinians out of the territory:

"Trump, who has previously threatened Greenland and Panama and suggested that Canada should become the 51st state, added Gaza to his expansionist agenda, claiming that it could become the 'Riviera of the Middle East'. He declined to rule out sending US troops to make it happen.

'The only reason the Palestinians want to go back to Gaza is they have no alternative,' the president told a joint press conference with Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House on Tuesday evening. 'It’s right now a demolition site. This is just a demolition site. Virtually every building is down.'

Arguing that Palestinians could live out their lives in 'peace and harmony' elsewhere, Trump continued: 'The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site.

'If it’s necessary, we’ll do that, we’re going to take over that piece, we’re going to develop it, create thousands and thousands of jobs, and it’ll be something that the entire Middle East can be very proud of.'” (our emphasis)

This proposed ethnic cleansing of Gaza by the MF, with the approval of Israel's most extreme elements, and development as a resort area (how many Trump hotels can fit in Gaza?) met with almost universal condemnation by allies and adversaries alike. It was the real estate developer / con artist in the MF coming to the fore again, with likely urging from the sinister Netanyahu:

"Netanyahu, who praised Trump as 'the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House', said 'it’s worth paying attention to this' idea and added that it was 'something that could change history'.

Trump was 'thinking outside the box with fresh ideas', Netanyahu observed, and was 'showing willingness to puncture conventional thinking.'”

"Thinking outside of the box" translates to "dangerously delusional" in normal terms. It will be worth watching how the MF's cult reacts to using U.S. funds and armed forces to make Gaza into what the MF described as the "Riviera" of the Middle East, in addition to his other proposed international land grabs.
