Today's Cartoon - How Could You See That Coming?

Right- wing columnist and Fox "News" talking head George "Effing"Will recently announced that he had left the Republican/ New Confederate/ Stupid/ Shooter's Party as a result of its takeover by neo- fascist racist Donald "Rump" Trump.  Jen Sorensen has this cartoon and an accompanying piece showing how Will has spent his entire career sloughing over Republican- sponsored racism and bigotry that he suddenly finds offensive in the person of Rump. (Will, of course, is not alone in having to deal with the fruits of his labors;  a number of fellow Republican hacks are also expressing "Tregrets" at the ascendence of the beast they've fed for decades.)

Will Says "Buh Bye" To Rethugs

Long-time right wing columnist George F. "Effing" Will announced today that he has left the Republican Party because of the Party's presumptive nominee, neo-fascist bully Donald "Rump" Trump.  Saying that the Party of Trump was "not his party" (riiiiight!), Will said that a President Trump with a Rethug Senate and House would be worse than a President Clinton with a Rethug Senate and House, but didn't endorse or say he would vote for Clinton (or the Libertarian ticket).

Never forget, though, that Will was one of St. Ronnie of Hollywood's most ardent propagandists, and if anyone is the grandfather of the Rump movement, it's St. Ronnie, the only difference being that he used a dog whistle (e.g. "states' rights") where Rump uses a bullhorn. Will says it's not his Party. Why no, it's that party waaaaaaayyyy over there (as Driftglass might say).
