True. All True.

Having spent a few years in beautiful Madison, WI, we agree with Balloon Juice's main man John Cole, who is visiting that fair city from West By God Virginny, and who declares (oddly accompanied by The Doors' "The End" playing in a clip of "Apocalypse Now"):
"I love this fucking city. Great climate- it’s 65 with a breeze. Great food, great beer, great cheese. All the girls are 5’8” or taller, blonde, buxom, and say OTE instead of out, the greatest cab company ever is here (Union Cab, an employee collective), and I am sure I had lots of other things to say about how awesome this place is but I started thinking about the 5’8” blondes again.

Madison, Wisconsin. It’s like a northern Austin, TX, or Athens, GA."
True. All true, and more.

Why We Love Madison

The marquee of Madison's Orpheum Theater -- where two Hackwhacker sons worked once upon a time -- shows the wit and fighting spirit of the city. (h/t to Balloon Juice)

People's Republic of Madison

Balloon Juice's John Cole has some amusing observations in his visit to our old stomping grounds, Madison, Wisconsin. Good stuff here, here, here, and here.

(And, lastly, here. Hee hee. Be sure to file your report, John!)
