Colbert: "Kim Jong-unreasonable"

As we follow the bluster coming out of North Korea (see post below), Stephen Colbert has his own hilarious take on the whole scene:

Temperature Rising On The Korean Peninsula

The Defense Department announced yesterday that it was positioning anti-missile defenses on Guam in response to continuing bellicose threats from North Korea, which has declared "the moment of explosion is coming fast,"  threatening an attack on the U.S. This follows North Korea's positioning of a long-rang missile on its east coast and the closing of a joint North and South Korean industrial zone for the second day, a move that cuts off the last remaining venture between the two countries.

North Korea has also indicated that it intends to restart the nuclear facility at Yongbyon, which would give it the capability to produce weapons-grade plutonium.

Situation Deteriorating On Korean Peninsula

After mounting threats by North Korea to launch a war against the U.S., two B-2 stealth bombers were dispatched to South Korea on a long-range show of force as part of an ongoing U.S.-South Korea military exercise.  Rhetoric from North Korea has grown increasingly bellicose, as tighter international sanctions were imposed on the regime after the North conducted a nuclear test in February.  Yesterday, North Korea cut communications with South Korea and warned war might be launched at any time.

North Korea's neighbor and closest ally, China, has become alarmed at their rejection of international attempts to halt their nuclear program and rocket testing, and joined in the U.N. Security Council's vote for tighter sanctions.  With their backs against the wall, the North Korean regime is a dangerous entity, but hopefully not a foolish one.
