Weekend Old And New Year's Music

Before we turn the page on this year, we just want to say, once again, R.I.P. George Harrison and Tom Petty.*

* And Lou Reed, and Richie Havens, et al.

Weekend Belated Birthday Song

Belated happy 71st (!!) birthday July 13 to Roger McGuinn, founder of Hackwhackers favorite and seminal folk rock (and so much more) band, the Byrds.  This is a McGuinn composition -- with trademark 12-string jangly Rickenbacker guitar --  from 1991's "Back From Rio" CD, long after the Byrds were disbanded.  Hope you have someone to love.  Enjoy.

Younger Than Yesterday?

Happy 68th birthday to Byrds co-founder Roger McGuinn, whose vocal and beautifully understated 12-string Rickenbacker guitar break is featured in "My Back Pages."
