Mid-Week Song

We can use a song and a singer that helps us decompress from everything that we're experiencing. Grammy award winning folk / Americana artist Sarah Jarosz has it in the wistful and lovely "Days Can Turn Around," from her new album "Polaroid Lovers."

Sometimes you’re up sometimes you’re down

Sometimes your heart’s in the lost and found

Your mind’s in the clouds but you’re stuck on the ground

And when you least expect it

Days can turn around

Days can turn around

Mid-Week Song: Hometown

One of our favorite singer / songwriters Sarah Jarosz collected her fourth Grammy this year for Best Americana Album for "World On The Ground."  Playing the mandolin, guitar and banjo to accompany her pure, lilting voice, Jarosz is also a member of the progressive-folk trio I"m With Her, along with Sara Watkins and Aoife O'Donovan. Here's a track from her award- winning album, "Hometown."

Mid-Week Blue Heron Song

Folk / Americana singer and songwriter Sarah Jarosz has been featured here a couple of times before, one time in a duet with another favorite of ours, Allison Krauss. Her musical talent reflects her eclectic background: raised in Texas with country and bluegrass music, and an honors graduate in Contemporary Improvisation from the New England Conservatory of Music. Her album "Undercurrent" won last year's Grammy award for Best Folk Album. Here she and the Punch Brothers perform her beautiful song "Blue Heron," one part of her 30-minute song cycle entitled "The Blue Heron Suite." Enjoy.

Mid-Week Green Lights Song

We first featured Austin, TX based singer/songwriter Sarah Jarosz in October, 2012. Her multi-instrument talent was honed at the New England Conservatory of Music, along with her American roots / folk bluegrass musical style. Her latest album "Undercurrent" won this year's Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. Here's a track off of that album, "Green Lights." Enjoy.

Mid-Week Song

Austin, Texas' Sarah Jarosz is a new star in the bluegrass/folk music world with her beautiful voice and instrumental talent. On top of that, she's a fine composer and only 21. Here she is, accompanied by the lovely Allison Krause, with her song "Run Away."
