Weekend Music

The plan today was to feature Bruce Springsteen's instant classic, the stirring "Streets of Minneapolis," but Brother Hackwhacker wisely jumped on it in "Skeets" yesterday.  So, we're going with another relevant song today -- it's by Woody Guthrie, an inspiration and major influence for Bruce as well as another American icon, Bob Dylan.  This is Guthrie's "All You Fascists Bound To Lose," written in 1944, with Guthrie on guitar and vocals, legends Sonny Terry on harmonica, Pete Seeger on banjo, and Cisco Houston on guitar and vocals.

Weekend Song Twofer

He's My Brother She's My Sister is a Los Angeles based indie group with a unique feature -- a tap-drummer. We have it on good authority they put on a dynamic live show. This is a clip of them performing at the recent South by Southwest show in Austin, TX. Then, tomorrow, we have the 100th anniversary of the birth of Woody Guthrie, a seminal figure in American folk music. Enjoy the weekend.
