Democratic Senate hopeful Alison Lundergan Grimes seems to be catching on with Kentuckians, much to Rethug Senator and human-turtle hybrid Mitch "Missy" McConnell's chagrin. Facing a teabagger challenge from his right (!!), Missy's in a virtual tie with Grimes. Missy took some shots from Grimes and his teabagger opponent at the traditional political Fancy Farm event, but refused to respond and focused on President Obama, showing that Missy's good at shadowboxing, but when it comes to a real challenger, he ducks back in his shell.
BONUS: Missy's teabagger opponent, Matt Bevin, had a moment or two of (ungrammatical, natch) clarity when he said:
“I challenge him to tell us one thing. Or one thing in the last 30 years that he’s proud enough of that he can actually run on that as opposed to smearing me and Alison [Lundergan Grimes] and Ed [Whitfield] and anyone else in the race. It is beneath the dignity of the office he holds. And I am asking him to be a man, run on his record.”Could we get some popcorn over here, please?
