Preparing For Trump's Election Interference

 

There are signs that Dems are preparing contingency plans for the expected interference in the mid-term elections by the Malignant Fascist's regime, including a private conference of Senate Dems and election experts who met recently, according to Politico:

"Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and nine other Democratic senators huddled with top party election experts last week to drill responses to a range of extreme scenarios — from federal agents at polling locations, to ballot seizures in key battlegrounds, to foreign interference operations — that they fear could become reality pre- and post-Election Day.

They game-planned legal injunctions to bar armed federal agents or armed citizens from voting sites, and lawsuits to force the Trump administration to return ballots if they’re confiscated in key contests that could decide control of Congress. They also choreographed communication strategies across elected leaders, campaigns and advocacy groups to combat misinformation and disinformation designed to sow distrust in the results, according to details of the tabletop exercises shared exclusively with POLITICO."

Well, one would hope Dems have been preparing ever since the lawless and dictatorial MF regained power last year.  Gerrymandering Congressional districts on the orders of the MF in multiple states, legislation curtailing voting rights as seen in the anti-democratic so-called "Save America Act", and signals that the MF will deploy ICE and Border Patrol thugs to intimidate voters in Dem-heavy precincts.  They can be certain that the MF will do everything to corrupt the mid-term elections, with the support of his cowering party / cult in Congress, to avoid the derailing of his fascist agenda and likely impeachment.  Whatever can be done to stop their interference must be done.

Georgia Court Blocks MAGA Election Rigging

The MAGA fascists in the Trump campaign and the national Republican Party have been trying mightily to rig the election for their cult leader. In Georgia, a Republican-majority State Election Board passed rules to require hand counting of ballots and other measures intended to delay the vote count and potentially overturn a legitimate election if VP Harris were to win. From the Associated Press:

"Fulton County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cox last week ruled that the State Election Board didn’t have the authority to adopt the new rules, and declared them 'illegal, unconstitutional and void.' The Republican National Committee and the Georgia Republican Party had appealed that ruling to Georgia’s highest court. They asked that it be handled in an expedited manner and for the rules to be reinstated while the appeal was pending.

The Supreme Court unanimously declined the request for expedited handling and declined to put Cox’s order on hold. The court’s order says that once the appeal is docketed it will 'proceed in the ordinary course,' which means it will likely take months before there’s a ruling. [snip]

The rules that Cox declared invalid included three that have gotten a lot of attention. One would require three poll workers to count ballots — not votes — by hand once polls close. The other two had to do with the process to certify county election results.

Democrats and some voting rights groups had raised concerns that the rules could be used by allies of Trump to slow or deny certification or election results, or to cast doubt on results if the former president loses the presidential election to Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris."  (our emphasis)

So far, the vast majority of court decisions at the state level on election rules in swing states are favoring Dems, despite intense efforts by the Malignant Loser to alter them to his advantage.
